Hanging Door Shoe Rack as a Graduation Gift
June 6, 2013
One of the most difficult things to shop for is graduation gifts. This is especially difficult for college-bound high-school grads. It is hard to know what teenagers’ interests are, and just what it is that they will need for dorm and college life. Additionally, it seems like everyone ends up getting the grad the same gifts. I have a suggestion that will surely make your gift the most unique – get the grad a hanging door shoe rack!
A hanging door shoe racks make the college transition easier
There are many reasons why this is a great gift for an incoming college freshman. First of all, they are going to need a lot of shoes. Most of the time, college life involves a lot of walking, and students go through a lot of shoes. So to have them prepared a hanging door shoe rack is perfect because it provides storage for many pairs of shoes.
Another reason that an over the door shoe rack is a great gift for a graduate is that it allows them to keep the dorm organized. Nothing is worse than having a messy roommate in college – and you are stuck with them for a whole year! Help your special graduate avoid the embarrassment of being “the messy one”.
Those that have gone to college and lived in the dorms know that they are not known for their spacious accommodations. That is why a shoe rack that hangs over the door is perfect. Instead of wasting closet space with a bulky freestanding shoe rack, a hanging door shoe rack takes up no floor space!
The best hanging door shoe rack that I have come across is this metal shoe rack. It is able to hold up to 24 different pairs of shoes, and is very easy to assemble and install. With space for 24 pairs of shoes, I think your grad will have no problem making new friends in the dorm, sharing this shoe rack space!
Outdoor Storage Shelves For Summer Recreation
June 6, 2013
With the weather getting nicer and the likelihood that my gardening will actually be successful, it is time to look at some outdoor storage shelves! Whether it is home improvement, gardening or just recreation that is on your docket, shelves for your outdoor space are a convenient storage addition.
I am lucky enough to live in a drier climate than most in the United States. There is a reason they say “it never rains in Southern California”. And that is because it does not rain here, especially in the summer. So for my outdoor shelving needs, I do not need to worry as much about rotting or moisture damage. However, I am open-minded enough to realize that the rest of the country does not really share this climate advantage.
There are great storage options for the yard. The Deck Box Outdoor Storage Box is a perfect choice for storing your summertime recreational accessories.
While it is not really outdoor storage shelves, this item is a must-have for anyone that wants to keep their sporting equipment and playthings in tip-top shape through the summer. Plus, it makes a great seat in the yard when the lid is closed!
There are many other outdoor storage shelves out there. For instance, a great alternative to a wood cabinet is a strongly-finished set of metal shelves, which are also very resistant to the outdoor elements. One advantage of the metal shelves is that they are much less likely to warp.
With these tips in mind, you will be able to enjoy this summer and have convenient storage right at your fingertips!
Shoe Organizer for the Summer Season!
May 31, 2013
I am starting to be able to feel it in the air – summertime is upon us! This is the time of year that is perfect for spending time outdoors, whether it is camping, swimming or hiking! The summer requires a unique mix of footwear, so finding the perfect shoe organizer for the out-of-season attire is a must!
During the months of May, June, July, August and even September, my footwear of chose is a comfy pair of sandals. Going to the grocery store, taking the kids to school, and just about every other activity will have me in a pair of flip-flops.
What shoes will be tossed into the shoe organizer?
One pair of shoes I certainly will not be caught dead in are Crocs. In my opinion, no one over the age of 12 should wear these silly-colored foam foot covers, unless said person is on their way home from their nursing job (if you are wearing scrubs you get an auto pass in my book). Into the shoe organizer with you, Crocs!
During the winter, I prefer to wear a pair of heavy-duty boots. What is great about these boots is that they keep my little toes warm and dry. Nothing is worse than trudging home from a long day at work only to discover your shoes have leaked and your socks are soaking wet. That is why these are great winter-time shoes. But work boots in the summer? Into the shoe organizer with you, winter-time boots!
During the spring and fall I like to keep it casual and wear my tried-and-true Chucks. You may know them more formally as Converse All-Stars. These shoes have been immortalized by a wide range of pop culture icons, from Joey Ramone to Miley Cyrus. But I wear them because they are so comfortable, I don’t care how cool they look. But in the summer, the canvas material is just too much for my sweaty feet to handle. Into the shoe organizer with you, beat up Chuck All-Stars!
What is this organizer I am speaking of? It is the Hanging Men’s Shoe Bag. It is heavy duty enough to hold all of my shoes, plus it has a convenient design that is easy to tuck away in the closet.
