Product of the Week: Jewelry Storage for Dorm Living
July 18, 2013
If you’re heading off to college this year, it’s a good time to start planning.
You’ve most likely got a month at this point to start preparing for your new college life. It’s an exciting time, maybe even a little bit scary. But there’s nothing to fear about the unknown, college was a memorable and sweet time for most people who have experienced it.
Take this time to start getting organized and figuring out what you’ll need on your new journey. Dorm life is very different from living at home with your parents. You will be faced with the challenge of taking on grown up responsibilities like paying your own bills and keeping your space organized. But don’t worry, it’s not rocket science!
If you have a lot of jewelry, you won’t be able to keep a large jewelry box in your dorm room. There just isn’t enough space! But that doesn’t mean you can’t keep all of your adornments and accessories with you when you go to college – you just need a smart organizing solution for them.
The Remy Forty-Eight Section Jewelry Box is perfect for any college bound girl.
Can you believe there are actually forty eight sections in this cute little jewelry case? It is very well designed, to maximize storage capacity while maintaining a compact and portable design. A removable tray with divided compartments is just one way to keep rings and earrings organized. Your statement pieces like big dangly earrings will easily fit in the gusseted lid pocket. And every other imaginable combination is possible – just do whatever fits best.
Best of all, this jewelry box is portable, so you don’t have to pack up your jewelry for trips back home to see the folks. Simply grab your case and take the whole thing with you? This way, you’ll also be assured that your jewelry is safe while you’re away.
Product of the Week: The Expandable Wine Bar
July 18, 2013
I’m always the biggest fan of products that have multiple benefits, especially when it comes to furniture.
What are my current needs? Well, my house isn’t exactly what you’d call spacious. I call it “cozy”. A modest one bedroom house for my hubby and me. Just enough space for the two of us, our two cats and our freshwater aquarium. We don’t need much space and do well with the little space we have.
The key to success is furnishing our house with space saving furniture pieces. Recently, we decided it was time for a better wine storage solution. But, I didn’t want a tabletop wine rack because our kitchen is already lacking counter space. And a wall mounted rack wouldn’t do either, because we rent and the landlord won’t allow any major installation.
Luckily, there is a small patch of unused space just off the kitchen – perfect for this Expandable Wine Bar by Winsome Trading.
What’s great about this wine storage cabinet is that it starts of measuring only 16″ wide but can open up to 50″ wide. We definitely don’t need it to be expanded all the time, so there’s no worry about available space.
But Hubby and I love to entertain, especially with our fellow winos! When it comes time for our next even, all we have to do is open this baby up and we can serve wine, appetizers and other cocktails.
And not to mention, this wine cabinet is very stylish, with a timeless and transitional look. We won’t have to worry about it looking outdated anytime soon. And it’s perfectly sized for nine bottles (which is all we really have on hand at any given time) plus a few glasses. A very sensible choice, I must say!
Modular Closet Organizers Complete My Storage
July 17, 2013
I take great pride in keeping my home tidy. But there is one area of the house I cannot seem to keep organized. My kitchen, living room, bathroom and foyer are all spotless. Clutter cannot be found anywhere in my apartment, except for in one area. I can never keep my bedroom closet organized! The solution to my problem ended up being an extensive set of modular closet organizers.
The closet is usually where I stash all of the loose clutter from the home. So in some ways, having a neat and tidy house is dependent on using my closet for catch-all storage. The problem is that piles of clothing start to stack up and grow larger. This makes it impossible to get ready in the morning or navigate this messy area.
How modular closet organizers saved my closet
To alleviate this issue, I looked into different styles of modular closet organizers. I figured if I spent enough money on an organizational system, I would actually use it out of guilt. I wanted something that could organize my clothing, shoes, linens and other everyday items in a way that was sensible and practical.
I am not made of money, so I wanted something that was a little bit down-market. There were modular closet organizers available, the perfect solution for adding organization to the closet without breaking the bank. So those were the types of organizers I had my sights set on when I ventured online.
For under $500 I was able to find a great solution to my messy closet situation. The Woodcrest Closet system includes everything I need to organize the closet! Included with this collection were 12″ deep adjustable shelves and a four foot accessory tower. What I love most about this collection is I can buy addition accessories to mix and match, turning my closet into the ultimate storage Voltron.
