Works for Me Wednesday: Do It Yourself Jewelry Organizer

I had a nice long three day weekend for Christmas and was able to work on a little organizing project – check it out!
I was storing all my costume jewelry in my top nightstand drawer in a couple of plastic organizers. While this method works great, it’s just not for me. If I don’t see it, I don’t wear it.
So I came up with a solution: I used a cork message board that was currently not in use (this metal message board would work great for a more modern look), stuck plain short metal sewing pins into it, and hung it on the side of my bathroom cabinet where I get ready for work in the mornings. The top two rows are for matching necklace and earring sets. Below are random earrings and pins. The hook on the side is for necklaces with no matching earrings, and the peg rack underneath (still waiting for my daughter to find two of the pegs) holds bracelets and watches. I even hooked a couple of pins over the nails on the top to hide them!

I recently began my own jewelry business and with all the earrings I make, i needed a place to display them so i know what I have. My sister and i came up with an awesome earring display: Take a picture frame (whatever size you like), maybe you bought it on a yard sale or have an empty frame kicking around. The bigger the better but i guess it depends on how many pairs of earrings you have! take some fabric, or mesh, or lace curtains and either staple it or hot glue it to the back of the frame! It’s that easy! Anything goes for what you put in the frame as long as it’s some sort of fabric you can put the earring hooks through!!!
