Every once in a while, I get overwhelmed by a feeling of disorder.
It hit me last night.
I realized what was causing it: too many items of questionable use lying around. These things aren’t obviously clutter, because MAYBE they’re useful. But maybe not.
That phone toy might be broken, or maybe it just needs a new battery. Would this CD work if I wiped it off, or is it permanently scratched? Did I stop reading this novel, fifty pages in, because I didn’t like it or because I just misplaced it? Etc. Continue Reading
Email Hack: Stage Two of My Battle Against Unnecessary Email

Two weeks after declaring war on email overload, I am happily on my way to making email fun again.
I tried asking nicely. I tried unsubscribing to non-essential email publications. I tried asking people to keep their emails short and only send email when it is important. None of it worked.
So now I have stopped feeling guilty about what other people think if I answer email slowly or not at all. I have accepted the fact that even trying to handle the more than 700 emails I get every day is just not possible, or necessary.

According to one study, we spend an average of 15 hours a week in our cars. If yours looks like mine after kids to school, soccer, ballet, school, soccer, ballet etc., you need some good organizing solutions.
