ORGANIZE-IT PURCHASES WEB DOMAIN STACKSANDSTACKS.COM AFTER COMPETITOR GOES OUT OF BUSINESS

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – Organize-It, a retailer for storage and organizational products, purchased specific assets only from on-line competitor StacksandStacks.com. The assets acquired include the stacksandstacks.com domain name along with associated blogs, website code database and email list. Organize-It already operates OrganizeIt.com and Organization-Store.com, making StacksandStacks.com the Michigan-based company’s third website in the storage and organization genre. Organize-It will be taking the StacksandStacks.com website concept to a whole new level with a new design, better service, and eventually an expansion of both the Organize-It and Stacks product mix.
Stacks and Stacks was operated from Northern California and offered products to organize homes, offices, and gardens since 1984. In 2010 stacksandstacks.com was ranked 343 as part of the Internet Retailer Top 500 (500 largest e-commerce sites) but they had trouble maintaining that status and in March of 2014 ceased all operations. Organize-It was able to purchase the domain name and launch the new and improved site on May 3, 2014.
“We feel bad that customers were not able to purchase from the Stacks site for the last couple of months and hope that they come back and shop the Organize-It version of the site” says, Organize-It’s General Manager, Chris Nylen. “We loved the synergies between the two sites and know that stacksandstacks.com had established a loyal following of customers which is hard to do in today’s competitive environment. That is why we made the investment in these assets” said Nylen. “We hope that with the redesigned site and the refocused storage and organization product mix, that we will exceed customers’ expectations” continued Nylen.
Organize-It, an independent storage and organization retailer, was founded in 1997, and offers a variety of storage and organizing products including closet organizers, kitchen gadgets, laundry organizers and other practical home, garage and office wares. Custom closets, including design and installation services, are also available at Organize-It’s Shelby Township, Michigan retail showroom. Organize Your Lawn and Garden Shed

As the temperatures start to rise (slowly!), the birds start chirping, and the flowers begin to bloom, it is a sure sign that spring is here! By organizing your lawn and garden shed, you can avoid throwing your back out while leaning over the mower to reach the bag of potting soil. You can also save money by knowing what you have and purchasing only what you need (not unnecessary duplicates). Whether you store these items in a shed, your garage, or some other space, follow these tips to get ready for spring.
- Schedule Time – Set aside a day when you are expecting good weather. Make it a family project and get everyone involved. Have boxes for donation items and garbage bags for trash in case you need them.
- Empty – Empty the contents of your shed onto your lawn or driveway.
- Clean – Now that these things are out, take a few minutes to clean your shed before re-loading it.
- Sort – Make a decision – toss, donate or keep. If it is toss, put it right in the garbage, and if you plan to donate, place it in the box. This is a great time to donate unused items, fix broken things, make a shopping list for anything you need, and clean up the belongings you intend to keep.
- Group Like Items – For the things you want to keep, group like items together (gardening tools, gardening supplies like seeds, soil, fertilizer, etc., lawn care, and so on). If you don’t already have “homes” for these items, then take a minute and designate areas, or zones, for your various categories. The saying “a place for everything and everything in its place” applies to every room in your house…and your shed.
- Shop – Shop for any needed garage organization products and install if necessary. In a small space like a shed, using shelving to take advantage of the vertical space is almost a must. Bins on the shelves can help group smaller items together. A gardening cart or a small caddy are a fantastic way to transport everything you need to the area where you are working. A hook makes it easy to store your hose and avoid the knots.
- Put It All Back Together – Put your lawn and garden supplies in their new designated locations, and label any boxes or containers.
